SMS aliasIt is the alphanumeric personalised pseudonym with which the user identifies themselves on the platform as the sender of the messages.
APIApplication Programming Interface. It is a set of functions that allows two applications to communicate and exchange data through a programming language
BlocklistIt is a list of IPs or domains that are cataloged by mail servers as unreliable and linked to SPAM activity .
BrowserIt is a software that allows you to browse the Internet.
BounceRefers to the fact that the emails sent are sent back to the sender without ever reaching the recipient due to an error.
Call to actionActive buttons, links or interactive components that are inserted into websites, emails, landing pages and that are used in order to induce the end user to perform an action (a payment, filling out a form, subscription to a newsletter, etc…).
Dynamic rangeIt is a text part of the message that can be customised according to the recipient. For example, the dynamic fields name and surname which, once inserted in the text of the message, will be different for each recipient: “Dear %Name, we are waiting for you tomorrow at 10.00” will become “Dear Andy, …” or “Dear Demi, … “.
Client (mail)It is the app that allows you to read emails.
DeliverabilityIndicates the ability of an email message to be delivered and not be blocked by anti-spam systems.
Drag & DropUsed to indicate the characteristic functioning of some web interfaces, drag-and-drop indicates a succession of three actions, consisting of clicking on a virtual object (such as a window or an icon) to drag it to another location, where it is released. In the case of drag & drop editors, we mean the possibility of creating an email or a web page simply by placing the elements available on a sheet by dragging and dropping them, to compose a kind of collage (template).
ESPEmail Service Provider. It is a service company that sends and manages email campaigns on behalf of its customers through its servers. The advantage of using this service is to prevent emails sent from your IP address from being identified as SPAM .
FooterInserted below the body of the text, it is used to personalise the email with the sender’s data.
GatewayIt is a connection bridge that allows two or more computers, connected to different types of networks, to communicate with each other.
GreylistThis is a temporary state; the sending of the email was not successful but a new attempt will be made after a few minutes.
Hard bounceIt is a definitive error due to the fact that the address is non-existent or to network problems of the recipient’s server.
HTMLHyperText Markup Language ( HTML ). It is a programming language used for the creation of the contents of a web page.
Embedded imagesThey are images that are inserted directly into the email message. This allows to avoid the blocking of images by the main email clients but makes the emails heavier and consequently slows down sending and receiving. Additionally, some email providers may label emails with embedded images as SPAM.
ISPInternet Service Provider. They are companies that provide, upon conclusion of a contract, services related to the Internet, such as access to the Web and email.
KeywordsLiterally “keywords”, they represent those words that recall the main contents of a text.
Landing PageLiterally “landing page”, it is a web page that is used by companies in order to convey a promotion or communication that can induce the end user to perform certain actions. The landing can be reached from a link that is disclosed through web campaigns, which can be done via email, sms and other web marketing tools.
LinkIt’s a hyperlink. By clicking on it, you can immediately open the URL of an internet page.
ListsThe list is the main tool for managing your email communications. It is mainly used to configure some basic parameters, necessary for sending communications, such as: name of the list, language, name and sender email, reply email, opt-in email and newsletter subscription form.
Opt-inThe opt-in emails are used to confirm the subscription of a user to a specific list. They are sent the first time a user subscribes to a newsletter and they contain a link that certifies that the recipient wishes to receive your newsletters.
Opt-outThis is an email or more commonly a message on a web page that is shown to the user who has requested to unsubscribe from the list in order not to receive other emails.
ResponsiveResponsive design indicates a web design technique that aims to adapt the arrangement of the elements of the web page or email to the size of the device you are using to view it, be it a tablet, a smartphone, a computer or other.
SDKSoftware Development Kit. Represents a set of tools for software development and documentation
SMTPSimple mail transfer protocol. It is the protocol with which an email message is transmitted between two servers and is usually associated with the mail sending server.
Soft bounceThis is a generic error message, due to temporary target server problems.
SpamIt consists in the mass sending of emails, generally commercial, without the recipient’s consent.
TemplateIt is an email message template that contains a structure (layout) already defined. The user can use these templates, with ready-made graphics and layouts, personalising text content, images, etc. as desired.
UpgradeNormally this refers to an update that provides for an improvement in certain characteristics.
Web AnalyticsThis involves the measurement, collection and analysis of internet data, in particular of websites and web pages, in order to understand, measure and optimise the use that surfers make of the web. Through the web analytics tools it is therefore possible to track, measure and analyse the behaviour of visitors to a site and detect the relevant actions performed on the various pages that compose it (file download, click on buttons, form completion, video viewing, passage from one page to another, etc).
WYSIWYG (Email Editor)WYSIWYG stands for “What You See Is What You Get”. It applies to HTML text editors that allow you to edit text not from code, but directly from the text as in a normal text editor.
